Cloth Simulations

Process break down
I used Cinema 4D Cloth, balloon and soft body simulations.I baked them as alembic files and then created Redshift cloth materials with custom made bump and alpha maps of the SOM logo (School of Motion) in photoshop.

Liquid Simulations

Process break down
I used Cinema 4D XParticles with xpExplosiaFX to advect xpEmitter particles and xpOpenVDBMesher to form the bubbles. I rendered Redshift AOVs as exr file and composited in After Effects to combine a transition from blue to green background.

 Liquid Simulations

Process break down
I used  Xparticles Fluid simulations with nxFluids, xpFlowField Along Spline, xpBlend to mix colours, and then cashed the xpOVDBMesher. Same AOV export render method as above brought into After Effects.

Cinema4D Clonners with rigid, soft body and cloth tags.

Process break down
I used Cinema 4D Cloners with rigid body simulations(cherries) and cloth simulation (rose petals)  with push apart, random effectors, Field Force with  splines and turbulance.Flag animation with cloth simulation and vertex map with a box field as pins, along with wind, turbulance and rotation effectors. I used the individual portrait videos as screen materials in the store shopfront with the flag on the facade of the building.

Then, I rendered exr files with Redshift AOVs of each camera  and imported into After Effects to compile and edit.

Insydium Taiao

Process break down
I modelled the leaf and Lily with Insidium Taiao system and animated the parameters to bloom and unfurl, created custom made material and  bump and sub surface scattering maps in photoshop. I saved as Alembic and applied NeXus nxUpres xpEmitter to emit particles. I exported as exr file with Redshift AOVs and time remapped in After Effects to create a more dramatic explosion of particles.

Product Automation rendering

Process break down
I used Cinema4D Take system to produce  3,225 rendes (215products x 15 finishes) for the 3V Architectural Hardware website. It is an automation system that allows you to record changes to materials, lighting etc and in connection with C4D Token system save them in the render queue with coded names.
